Unique Artisan Pottery Collection by UK ceramicist

A woman arranging handmade pottery dishes and cups on a rustic wooden table in a bright courtyard garden, with a plant visible on the left.

Sophie is a Cambridgeshire based potter. She makes functional wares such as mugs, plates and vases using warm-toned stoneware clay. The designs are often loose interpretations of traditional shapes and patterns. She is inspired by the unique and handmade forms found in medieval pottery and Polish 'Cepelia' (folk) objects.

Sophie’s work is stocked across the UK by various stockists including TOAST, Harth Chocolate, Still Life Story and The Chuffed Store, Still Life Story, Radical Living, and Mimmo Studios, and has been featured in the Tat London Christmas Gift Guide 2023 and a House & Garden homeware guide 2026.

Sophie throws on a traditional kick wheel, which means that no electricity is used in the throwing stage as the wheel is operated by her foot. Each piece is hand painted with oxides in floral and abstract patterns, often inspired by folk art and sentimental objects from Sophie’s Polish heritage. Zosia Ceramics was sparked by a floral doodle that Sophie’s mother used to do in greetings cards to her loved ones, and in honour of Magda’s memory she signs her pottery with her Polish name, Zosia.

Sophie works with a durable stoneware clay and uses a restricted palette of oxide colours to decorate her pieces with. Each pot is glazed with a transparent gloss glaze, which crackles lightly where the glaze is thicker giving it a handmade finish.

If you're looking to add to your existing collection of ceramics you'll find that these organic forms fit well amongst an eclectic set, whilst equally, are neutral enough to sit comfortably within a more classic style of tableware. In the web shop you’ll be able follow along with Sophie's creative explorations. You'll discover regularly updated curations of one-of-a-kind pieces, amongst some of Sophie’s more familiar pieces, as she continues to delight in the nature of clay.
